More than 7000 Canadians, mostly women in their prime, were diagnosed in 2017. Of that group, 220 died.
While the most common occurrences of Thyroid Cancer can be unpredictable, when caught early, the survival rate can be as high as 98%.
Nearly 3 out of 4 cases are found in women. About 2% of thyroid cancers occur in children and teens.
